This is the Netcomm Wireless and the following guide will help you re-configure it if you've pushed the small button at the back. Not the right modem? Click here.
Step 1
Unplug the cable from the DSL or WAN port of the modem, then connect one of your devices to the WiFi - if you are using a mobile, make sure your data is turned off.
Step 2
Open a web browser on your laptop or mobile device and type "192.168.20.1" into the URL/address bar and press Enter.
There will be a pop-up asking for a Username and Password. Simply type "admin' for both.
Step 3
You'll now be logged into the main configuration page of your modem. On the left hand side, click on Basic Setup.
The process changes slightly depending on your type of service. Click on one of the following links to be taken to the correct steps.
Which service do you have?
ADSL Setup
Step 4
You'll get the choice between ADSL, VDSL, and Ethernet WAN. Make sure ADSL is selected and click Next.
Step 5
On the next page, select PPP Over ATM (PPPoA) from the list.
Step 6
You'll now be on the last page where you need to enter the following information.
User ID: customer@compassnet.co.nz
Password: compass
VPI: 0
VCI: 100
Finally, click Finish.
Step 7 - Last for ADSL
All you have to do now is plug the cable back into the DSL port that you pulled out at Step 1 and you'll be back online!
VDSL Setup
Step 4
You'll get the choice between ADSL, VDSL, and Ethernet Wan. Make sure VDSL is selected and click Next.
Step 5
On the next page, select PPP Over Ethernet (PPPoE) with VLAN Tag 10 from the list.
Step 6
You'll now be on the last page where you need to enter the following information.
User ID: customer@compassnet.co.nz
Password: compass
Finally, click Finish.
Step 7 - Last for VDSL
All you have to do now is plug the cable back into the DSL port that you pulled out at Step 1 and you'll be back online!
Fibre Setup
Step 4
You'll get the choice between ADSL, VDSL, and Ethernet Wan. Make sure Ethernet WAN is selected and click Next.
Step 5
On the next page, select PPP Over Ethernet (PPPoE) from the list.
Step 6
Make sure to select No VLAN Tag on the following page.
Step 7
You'll now be on the last page where you need to enter the following information.
User ID: customer@compassnet.co.nz
Password: compass
Finally, click Finish.
Step 8 - Last for Fibre
All you have to do now is plug the cable back into the WAN port that you pulled out at Step 1 and you'll be back online!
